The Scheme’s essential objective is to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct in all of its activities. This means that all business shall be conducted in a respectful and responsible manner, consistent with the ethical principles of integrity, competence, responsibility, accountability, fairness, and transparency and in accordance with the Scheme’s tenets of compassion, innovation and service. Furthermore, all applicable laws and regulations will be upheld in all matters. To this end a Code of Ethical and Professional Conduct (Code) for Trustees, Committee members, and Employees and Representatives is in place to strengthen the Scheme’s ethical behaviour by establishing its responsibility for ethical conduct, outlining specific obligations, providing guidance to recognise and deal with ethical issues, and establishing mechanisms to report unethical conduct. Every Trustee, Committee member, Employee and Representative of the Scheme, has a responsibility to understand and comply fully with the relevant Code and all other policies of the Scheme.
